The film uncovers a fascinating story of Fred Dunkel, German Christian,
photographer, producer and businessman, who married to Jewish woman and was
forced to leave Nazi Germany in in the 1930's for Israel, along with his wife and
daughter. Dunkel , who was a member of the Nazi party, was declared deserter by
the German Authorities. In Israel, he became a photographer and director, recruited
for Zionists propaganda. Dunkel documents the development of settlement period in
Israel on the 1930's-1948's.
סיפור מרתק על פרד דונקל צלם ומפיק גרמני שהיה חבר במפלגה הנאצית וברח
בשנות ה- 30 לארץ ישראל, בה הפך לצלם ובמאי מגויס לתעמולה הציונית.
בתו רותי, שלא הכירה את אביה, מגלה בסרט מידע חדש עליו וחושפת בפנינו לראשונה
את עבודתו הייחודית. הסרט מכיל חומרי ארכיון נדירים מתקופת ההתיישבות בא"י
משנות ה- 30 ועד קום המדינה.
